Ronald L. Cottrell - Founder, Onwer, Chief Instructor

Ronaldl L. Cottrell is the founder and owner of Texas Professional Firearms Training.  Mr. Cottrell's experience started early growing up as an avid hunter, expert shooter, and president of the local chapter of the National Rifle Association.  Mr. Cottrell continued his experience as a Unitled States Army Military Police Officer, where he achieved Distinguished Expert Marksman.  He continued as a San Antonio Police Officer, where he graduated number one in his Police Academy Class.  After spending eighteen years as the San Antonio Park Police Training Academy Commander, he is currently the Park Police Administative Sergeant and Chief Firearms Instructor for the San Antonio Park Police Training Academy.   

Sergeant Cottrell currently holds a Master Peace Officer's License and a Police Instructor's License from the Texas commision on Law Enforcement on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE).  Sergeant Cottrell is an FBI trained, TCLEOSE licensed Firearms Instructor.  Sergeant Cottrell also holds NRA certifications as an NRA Pistol Instructor, Home Firearms Safety Instructor, and an NRA Range Safety Officer's Certification. 

"I started this company to share my many years of firearms experience, and my expertise in training Police Officers to shoot, with the public.  I want to share my passion for shooting with friends, family, and the community.  My hope is to provide high-quality training in firearms use and safety from expert Police Firearms Instructors.  I hope to show our students how much fun shooting can be, and maybe some with a new sense of safety and security for themselves, their homes, and their families".
